what does come in your mind when this word come? for me of course it does look interesting because cell cycle is an ordered set of events, resulting in cell growth and cell division into two daughter cell.
at the end of this topic, I can differentiate the stages of cell cycle, apply it to plant growth and development, define totipotency and its types and relate cell cycle mechanism with plant totipotency.
cell cycle is one of my favorite topic which is the main function of this cell cycle is to replace lost or damaged cells and allow organism to grow.
cell cycle can be divided into 4 phase which is the interphase that consist of G1 followed by S phase and G2 and M phase and cytokinesis. meanwhile M phase divided by two types which is mitosis and meiosis. M phase also can be divided into 4 stages prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
totipotency is the ability of a single cell to divide and produced all of the differentiated cells in organism.
here is the scl activity that we had done in our lecture which is very interesting and a little bit difficult for us that we need to brainstorming together.
pollination also include two type of embryogenesis which is zygotic embryogenesis and somatic embryogenesis.
the activities that we had done in this lecture is very simple and easy for me to understand more about the cell cycle, totipotency and pollination.
before this, i never heard anything about totipotency. but when i learned about it, it gets more interesting and i can gain more knowledge about plant development.
